Reflective

During this course I’ve learned to properly format my words as I’ve always struggled with what words to use, how to use them, the proper usage of the words. When writing project 1, I found it difficult to find actual, credible resources to use for Narcissism as there are different types. I found it hard to keep concentration on how my body paragraph should be organized which ultimately turned into a disorganized mess, feedback from Professor Hammett “all info must fall under solution: reorganize.”
As the semester continued my research has gotten better, compared to in my high school years, when I would just use the first website and took it as fact rather looking for a more credible source. now I take time going over each information comparing to different sources, using websites to find documents or statements, taking time to watch interviews. I am now able to decipher when a website is from someone’s opinion rather than being factual information. When writing from a website I now know that even if I paraphrase a quote from it or take a small amount of info, I still must cite, which was something I did not learn unfortunately until I got into college.
In high school I struggled immensely with writing, I was just unable to fully grasp the concept, with all the different terms, writing styles, different punctuations, etc. I tried putting effort into learning but was never able to understand what was being told to me or was given the time of day to have a one-on-one teaching moment. When I enrolled in English comp I was preparing to fail, to not understand college level writing, for the professor to let fall behind. I was completely wrong, Professor Hammett told be exactly what I needed to fix, how to fix it, gives resources and examples of what my writing should look like. This class has helped in so many ways within my writing journey as well as my critical thinking skills.
